ADDY Awards Overview

The Suncoast Advertising Federation enhances the advertising and communications industry by providing quality support to the diverse community of individuals dedicated to their profession, whose contributions are vital to the region's economy and culture. The Suncoast Advertising Federation ADDY Awards Competition is the first of a three tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The ADDY Awards Competition is the industry's largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide.

The ADDY Awards were founded in Florida in 1960 by the Miami Chapter and were adopted nationally in 1968. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY Awards represent the true creative spirit of advertising by recognizing all forms of advertising, in all types of media, created by all sizes and types of entrant. With the ADDY Awards, it's the size of the idea that matters the most, not the size of the organization or the size of the budget. This distinction truly separates the ADDY Awards from virtually every other advertising competition.

• The ADDY's are 6 times larger than Cannes and 3^1/2 times bigger than the Clios.
• There were 58,000 entries nationwide in 2006.
• There were 6,583 entries in the Fourth District alone.
